Gilding is a highly specialized field and as such holds ‘trade secrets’ that many are not willing to share. At Art Gilding we believe that the interests of our clients come first and so, have developed our training and consultancy service – using all of our knowledge to provide the best result for you. Professional training for your team is provided by our founder, Master Gilder, Karl Eggert.

Master Gilder Karl Eggert trained in Cologne, Germany as a church restorer and gilder. After achieving Master status as a gilder he and his and his wife Brigitte moved to Sydney Australia and formed Art Gilding Pty Ltd in 1976. His experience with every aspect of gilding techniques whether used on furniture, artworks or architecture is invaluable and ensures that every team member is trained to achieve the highest standard.

This training service enables us to empower our clients with their own highly skilled team of gilders under the supervision of a Master gilder, anywhere in the world for extended periods of time.

These include heritage restoration of Sydney Town Hall and entry foyer (1100m.sq.) of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
