Heritage and Church Buildings

Gilding for heritage buildings and places of worship

Art Gilding has been chosen to gild many projects of great significance including:

  • Sydney Town Hall (with the largest organ in the Southern Hemisphere)
  • The NSW State Parliament House and Legislative Assembly Area
  • The Golden Buddha in Quang Minh Temple, Braybrook, Victoria
  • Many churches of historical significance.

The long-lasting elegance and durability of Art Gilding’s craftsmanship can still be seen at many public sites. With fine quality European craftsmanship, we take great pleasure knowing that our work will be enjoyed by generations to come.

Recent heritage and church projects

Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Surry Hills

As part of a complete renovation of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Art Gilding has been requested to restore the goldleaf signage on memorial plaques honouring the soldiers from the first and second World War.

St Patrick’s Church, Bondi

Art Gilding was honoured to be commissioned to apply gold leaf to the plaster decorations above both side altars at St Patrick’s Church in Bondi, Sydney.

Returning beauty to the city!

We recently completed another fantastic project as part of the Art Gilding Academy. This project was a City of Sydney Council restoration commissioned by RJC Group, which tasked us with giving life back to the Boy and Paddle cast iron statue in Paddington, NSW.
