Golden Buddha Braybrook

The Quang Minh Temple in Braybrook can accommodate more than 1000 people. Art Gilding was approached to assist with the gold gilding of the five-metre-high Golden Buddha statue sitting on a one-metre-high lotus flower base.

Ceiling panels for the Royal Pines Resort

The Art Gilding Team gilded 220 ceiling panels for the resort, totalling 450 square metres of aluminium leaf. The work was carried out at the Prima Furniture shop fitting factory in Brisbane over a period of 16 working days.

St James Church

St James in Sydney is the oldest Anglican church in Australia. In 1988 the church was refurbished and Art Gilding was commissioned to gild the ceiling panels. 25 years later, Karl and Brigitte led the Art Gilding team in re-gilding the historic church.

Sydney Town Hall Clock

While the Sydney Town Hall was undergoing restoration and was covered in scaffolding it was the perfect time for the clock face to be re-gilded. The project's heritage architect, Peter McKenzie, discovered that the original clock face had three rings of gold leaf – so we restored them.

When large cracks appeared around the neck area of her Buddha, our client tried to soak the timber with linseed oil. In the process she took the gold leaf off. When we had restored the gold leafing the client could hardly believe her eyes – a Buddha looking almost as when she bought it 20 years before.

Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Sydney

The church discovered a hidden treasure when paint was stripped off to reveal The Ten Commandments, The Greed and The Lord’s Prayer painted and gilded on glass. Art Gilding was instructed to gold leaf all columns framing the historic artworks.

St Nektarios Church Wollongong restoration

Art Gilding was approached by Fr Savas Pizanias to beautify the St Nectarios Church of the Greek Orthodox parish in Wollongong by transforming the icon screen and three altars with gold leaf.
